Escape From New York is a super fun and engaging way for students to practice math and reading skills! It is a low-prep escape room activity with an exciting theme designed for fifth grade.
Students begin by reading an exciting storyline in which they are lost in New York City. The only way to get out is by solving puzzles that will unlock different landmarks throughout the city.
This activity can be used any time but is especially great to review skills at the end of the year.
There are 5 puzzles in this challenge. Completing a task correctly will reveal the code to unlock the next landmark.
Each landmark in this escape room has its own reading or math task. These include:
