Main Idea Task Cards
Includes 20 task cards and a recording sheet. Each card contains a short paragraph for students to read and determine the main or central idea. The answers are multiple-choice and all related to the topic in some way. Students must choose the one that best states the main idea and not a detail.
Main Idea Worksheets
Students read three paragraphs and then glue on the main idea statement that matches each paragraph. Includes two versions. These can be used for practice or formative assessment.
These main idea activities are written for second grade students but may also work for late first grade or remediation in third.
